The Big Bench Community Project (BBCP) was launched in 2009 by American designer Chris Bangle and his wife Catherine, now residents in Piedmont. These oversized installations were conceived as a creative and welcoming way to support local communities, promote tourism and celebrate regional craftsmanship.

Bench No. 287 of the project is located in Boretto and, while there are 424 benches in total, Boretto’s remains the only one in Emilia-Romagna that overlooks the River Po.
