Maldotti Museum

The north wing of the main floor of the Doge's Palace houses the Maldotti Quadreria, a selection of about fifty paintings belonging to the collection of the historic Maldotti Library. The works are exhibited in a process focused on the formation of the collection over time that highlights the link between the collection and the territory and collecting in the Guastallese area. Frames the beautiful Palazzo Ducale, the most representative monument of the city.

The "Quadreria" includes some artworks such as "Arria e Peto" by Luca Ferrari, "Lot e gli angeli" by Marcantonio Franceschini, "Santa Caterina di Alessandria" by Giuseppe Bazzani, a valuable painting representing the "Madonna col Bambino" - with a gold background dating back to the 15th century - a watercolor by Francesco Hayez, a small oil on board by Giuseppe di Nittis, some of the most significant paintings by the Guastallese Antonio Gualdi and a piece by Mazzacurati dating back to the 1930s ("Ritratto di Rufo Paralupi").
