The tomb of Augusto Daolio - singer of the band Nomadi - who passed away after a brief illness in October 1992, lies in the Municipal Cemetery.
The tomb is surrounded by objects, such as drawings and flowers - making it a kind of pop-art Mausoleum, thanks to his fans, who keep arriving from all over Italy to show their devotion to Augusto.
The municipal Acetaia, where the precious Balsamic Vinegar ages, is located in the attic of the east wing of the Gonzaga Castle, in the heart of the historic center of Novellara.
At the end of the portico (porch) in “Via Cavour”, near the square, there is a religious building dedicated to the Holy Virgin Mary - called “Chiesa della B.V. del Popolo” - whose first symbolic stone was placed by Count Camillo III Gonzaga, on November 11, 1704.
In the past, the entire northern portion of Novellara country was occupied by extensive marshes and riverbeds. The great reclamation works have progressively dried up the marshes but still today the landscape shows that ancient dominion of the waters.
Down the street “contrada dei Servi” (now called “Vittorio Veneto”), in the south-west corner of the square, stands the “Chiesa dei Servi”, a religious building constructed with the financial support of notary Camillo Farnetti, from Novellara, and the legacy of 100 “scudi d’oro” (a type of coin used in the Italian peninsula) given by Count Alessandro Gonzaga.
