A walk through Novellara
Novellara dimostra ancora tutte intatte le caratteristiche di stampo rinascimentale ed il suo centro è un perfetto equilibrio tra portici e botteghe storiche, inoltre su Piazza Unità d'Italia spicca la Chiesa collegiata di Santo Stefano, fatta costruire da Alfonso I Gonzaga per celebrare le sue nozze.
Poco distante si intravede la Rocca dei Gonzaga e al suo interno troviamo - il Museo Gonzaga con visita guidata su prenotazione, il Teatro Tagliavini, la Mostra permanente della civiltà contadina e l'Acetaia comunale.
Continuando la passeggiata verso nord-est ben visibile è il murales dedicato al frontman dei Nomadi, Augusto Daolio, altri 4 minuti a piedi verso est e arrivate all'Ex Macello comunale, oggi sede di mostre e spettacoli.
Novellara still showcases its original Renaissance character, and its town centre represents a perfect harmony of porticoes and historic workshops. In its main square, Piazza Unità d’Italia, stands the Collegiate Church of Santo Stefano, commissioned by Alfonso I Gonzaga to celebrate his wedding.
Nearby rises the imposing Rocca of the Gonzaga family, which encloses within its walls the Gonzaga Museum (offering guided tours by appointment), the Tagliavini Theatre, the permanent exhibition on Rural Life, and the Municipal Acetaia.
Continuing north-east, visitors will encounter the mural dedicated to Augusto Daolio, frontman of the band “Nomadi”. Proceeding eastward for about four more minutes, you will reach the former municipal slaughterhouse, now home to exhibitions and performances.
